“A cold winter brings not only physical hardship but also serious mental challenges. That is why psychologists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working in the tents. Their tasks include stabilizing people’s emotional condition after missile attacks, teaching self-help and calming techniques, and listening to those who wish to talk,” said Piia Kallas, Head of the Estonian Rescue Association. Each tent set includes a high-pressure tent, diesel heaters, battery power stations, tables, chairs, camping lamps, lighting towers, extension cords, thermoses, and heated blankets. The packages also contain child-friendly items such as a changing table, children’s tables and chairs, a puzzle mat, and toys.
“For Ukrainians, Estonia’s support is significant because we are among the few who continue to deliver aid directly on site under the current circumstances. Our support and presence are extremely important to our Ukrainian friends,” Kallas added. In addition, the Estonian Rescue Association handed over five VR headset sets for child-focused activities to the psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, purchased with the support of donors, as well as a minibus to humanitarian demining teams in Lviv Oblast.
